Biography

Dr. Aksun is the Dean of College of Engineering and a Professor in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Koc University. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 1981 and 1983, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1990. Upon graduation, he worked in the Electromagnetic Communication Laboratory at University at Illinois at Urbana Campaign as a postdoctoral fellow for two years. Then, he joined the faculty of engineering at Bilkent University in 1992. Dr. Aksun worked in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department as Assist. Prof., Assoc. Prof., and Professor until 2001. Then, he has joined the faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Koc University, where he has been working as the Dean of Engineering since 2004. Dr. Aksun has published more than 75 international journal and conference papers in the area of Microwave Theory and Techniques and Antennas and Propagation.
